The new version of WP Security Audit Log, WordPress’ most comprehensive security and user monitoring plugin keeps a record in the audit log when any type of WordPress content is changed. With this new version we are also introducing a new plugin add-on that allows you to generate WordPress user activity reports.
When administering a busy multi user WordPress or WordPress multisite blog or website, it is vital to monitor content changes to ensure the integrity of the content, the website’s reputation and also to ensure that no malicious hacker is tampering the content with malicious code and malware.
WordPress Content Change Security Alerts
When the content of a draft or published WordPress blog post, page or custom post type is changed the plugin will log such activity and alert you of such content change with the one of the WorPress security alert mentioned below:
- Alert 2065: User modified the content of a blog post
- Alert 2066: User modified the content of a page
- Alert 2067: User modified the content of a custom post type
For a complete list of WordPress Security Alerts that WP Security Audit Log uses to keep an audit log of everything that is happening on your WordPress refer to the complete list of WordPress Security Alerts.
Get Notified via Email When Content Changes on WordPress
With the introduction of these new WordPress content changes alerts you can now setup email notification rules with the Email Notifications Add-On so you are immediately alerted via email once the content of a blog post, page or custom post type is changed.
As seen in the below screenshot you only have to create the following trigger to be notified via email when WordPress content is changed:
(Alert Code Is Equal 2065) OR (Alert Code Is Equal 2066) OR (Alert Code Is Equal 2067)
Generate WordPress Reports
You can generate any type of WordPress report with the new Reports Add-On, hence you will be able to keep track of all users’ activity and productivity while at the same time you can meet any legal or regulatory compliance requirements your business have to adhere to.
Unlike other WordPress reports plugins the Reports add-on does not have built in templates that restrict you to a limited number of report types. It allows you to generate any type of user activity report. For example you can generate a report to track the activity of a specific user, group of users, of a specific user role and much more.
Reports can be exported to HTML and CSV format so you can also automatically parse reports output should you want to import such reports in your central reporting system. For more information on the reporting extension refer to the Reports add-on product page.
