Easily Search for Specific WordPress User and Site Activity in WordPress Security and Activity Audit Log
Keeping track of every change that happened on your WordPress in a security audit log is a good practise, though unless you are able to automatically search through it for a specific WordPress, user or site change it is useless. It is virtually impossible to manually browse through thousands of WordPress security alerts to find a specific WordPress change or WordPress user action.
The Search for WP Security Audit Log Add-On allows you to search automatically through the WordPress security audit log. You can search by using free text based searches and by using filtering rules as explained below.
Use Free Text Based Search to Search for Specific WordPress Changes in the Security Audit Log
To easily track down all the changes that happened to a particular WordPress post, page, custom post type, widget, plugin etc simply enter its name or URL in the search box. In the below screenshot I am searching for wp security audit log which is the name of a plugin and also a page we have on the website hence it returns the results of both. All search results include all the details you need to track down all type of activity such as the Alert ID, date and time, the user who did the change, the source IP address and most importantly of all details about the change.
Filtering Rules to Fine Tune WordPress Security Alerts Searches
You can also use the built-in filtering rules to filter the WordPress security alerts by Alert ID, date range, IP Address and username. Hence by using a combination of filtering rules and free based text search to fine tune your search for a specific WordPress change or activity you can find a specific activity much more easily and faster. In the below screenshot I am filtering the WordPress security alerts by a specific user, Robert Abela.
